Netflix is currently working on a system that will allow users to stream at a higher speed rate. This style of high-speed viewing has been popularized on YouTube. As of now, this feature is available on Android mobile devices, however, Netflix has cautioned that it may not become a permanent feature. Netflix authorities have gone on to say, that they are always experimenting in order to provide users with the best viewing experience. This statement was issued on Monday to the media.
Hollywood revolts against Netflix’s speed-up feature
Rival streaming platforms have already adapted faster playback speed. YouTube, for example, lets its viewers watch clips at up to 2 times the normal rate. Also, the Apple podcast app does the same. This feature lets podcast listeners skip or speed up lengthy series in half the time. Similarly, on YouTube users can skip or watch a lengthy video in a matter of minutes by simply double-tapping.
People should be allowed to do it if the artist or creator is ok with it. If you want to go watch The Godfather in 90 min then go invent your own personal machine. Streamers should not be allowed to present content which is not the way it was intended to be seen without approval. https://t.co/TCEH3Koax3

However, for actors and directors who consider filmmaking an art, do not see this as a right step by Netflix. This controversial move by Netflix has left Hollywood actors and directors protesting and voicing against it. The company had offended a proud movie enthusiast when they decided to release a film at home at the same time they appear in theatres thus allowing viewers to skip the actual opening of the film.
Stop. As the person talked about in this article I felt the need to speak out. There is NO WAY @netflix will move forward with this. That would mean they are completely taking control of everyone else’s art and destroying it. Netflix is far better than that. Am I right Netflix?🎥 https://t.co/fZDnYzvStN
