No More Bets is a Chinese film directed by Shen Ao that was released on August 9. The movie has been performing well at the box office and as per reports by Variety, the movie earned more than Greta Gerwig's Barbie during the past weekend. Meanwhile, the Margot Robbie starrer has surpassed 1 billion at the box office, making it the top film of 2023 so far.

No More Bets beats Margot Robbie's Barbie

Variety reported that Barbie collected $33.7 million in its fourth weekend of release in North America, as per data shared by Comscore. Meanwhile, it earned $45.1 million internationally. The report further added that Barbie collected a total of $78.8 million during the weekend while No More Bets brought $88 million between Friday and Sunday in China only.

Variety further reported that No More Bets earned $247.5 million and $101 million in China so far. On the other hand, Barbie has so far earned $459 million in North America and $572 million at the box office internationally. Both the movies have been doing great, but No More Bets performed better this weekend.

No More Bets is expected to earn $500 million at the box office, making it one of the biggest hits in the recent time in China. Meanwhile, the official synopsis of the film read, "A Chinese programmer and a model who, enticed by the promise of high-paying jobs, find themselves trapped in a foreign country as prisoners of a ruthless gang, and forced into online gambling fraud." The movie has been produced by Ning Hao and helmed by Shen Ao.
