Oppenheimer Vs Barbie BO Collection Day 7: India among top three markets for Nolan's film
Barbie and Oppenheimer both released globally on July 21. The movies have been pulling Indian audiences to theatres and have collectively earned Rs 100 Crores.
On July 21, box office witnessed arguably one of the biggest clashes of the year when Barbie and Oppenheimer released. The latest numbers at the cash registers stand testament to the fact that both films have a substantial audience in India. After the first week, the collections of Oppenheimer collections have far surpassed that of Barbie’s here.

Oppenheimer wins Barbeneheimer battle in India
Barbenheimer, a portmanteau for Barbie and Oppenheimer, was one of the most used words in the past month. The phenomenon was not just a meme but a full-fledged battle at the box office. After the first week of its release, Christopher Nolan's directorial has emerged victorious in the juggernaut, at least in India.

As per Sacnilk, on Thursday, July 27, Barbie minted Rs 2 crores at the domestic box office. This has taken the movie’s total collection in India to a good Rs 27.5 crores. While the amount may look big, it dwarfs in front of Oppenheimer’s earnings. On Thursday, the Cillian Murphy starrer collected Rs 5.3 crores, taking the film’s one-week total to Rs 73.2 crores.
India among biggest contributors to Oppenheimer's income

When compared to the global wave, box office numbers are titled in favour of Oppenheimer and not Barbie here. India is in fact one of the top contributors to the worldwide haul of the atomic bomb release. As per trade analyst Ramesh Bala, after the United States and Australia, India is the topmost contributor to the film’s collections globally. France and Germany round up the top five Oppenheimer's commercial window markets.
