Queer Eye’s miniseries Queer Eye: We’re in Japan premiered on Netflix on November 1. The Fab Five have transformed a few more lives in Tokyo, and fans are applauding the Emmy Award-winning show once again. But before you start watching how the Fab Five transformed lives in Tokyo, here are some important lessons to learn from the previous seasons of the Queer Eye series.
Queer Eye: Lessons to learn
1. You cannot numb feelings selectively
The Kween of Queer Eye and the grooming expert Jonathan Van Ness dished out this major advice in season one of the series. He said that ‘we cannot selectively numb feelings. So if you try to numb the vulnerability, you also numb joy, happiness, and connection. You cannot have connection and joy and happiness without vulnerability.’
2. Avoid building walls around you
Another major advice that culture expert Karamo Brown dished out to Neal Reddy in episode two of season one was to avoid building walls around him. Karamo said, "When people build walls, they end up keeping other people out. But they are also keeping themselves in."
3. Preparing food for somebody shows your concern
In episode three of season three, Antoni Porowski, the Fab Five food and wine expert said that food helps build a connection with your close ones. He said that preparing a meal for somebody you love goes a long way to maintain your relationship. “You thought it’s depressing to cook for one. My goal is to change your mind on that. You can take care in making something as easy as this, or scrambled eggs, omelet, whatever it is," said Porowski.
4. Do not let yourself go
It is time to welcome the style guru of Queer Eye a.k.a. Tan France. In season one episode five of Queer Eye, Tan France passed on a valuable piece of advice to Bobby Camp, a struggling father of six. Tan said that he has been with his husband for nine-and-a-half years and to date, he makes sure that he grooms himself and makes an effort to be the best version of himself. He said that he wants his partner to look at him and think he respects him enough to make an effort.

5. Remember the past, but welcome the future
Bobby Berk, the interior design expert on Queer Eye, gave one of the best parting gifts to Rob Elrod, a single father of two sons who were still grieving the loss of his wife who passed away due to cancer. As the Fab Five finally shows Rob his newly designed house, Bobby gives a box of memories to Rob which has an inscribed message by Rob’s late wife for his sons. Booby advised Rob to remember his wife, but also welcome a fresh perspective to his life.
