Helen Mirren recently spoke about working with Sir Ian McKellen on their film The Good Liar. She spoke about her experience at the World Premiere of the film and also in an interview with a media portal. In her interview at the World Premiere, she said that it all started with a good script. So when she read the script and got to know about Sir Ian McKellen being part of it, and it being directed by Bill Condon she felt like she was savouring a good dish made by a good chef. Further during her interview with the media portal, Helen Mirren also said that it is fun working with someone who enjoys the craft as much as you do.

Helen Mirren also spoke to another media portal about what hooked her to their film The Good Liar. She said that it was a combination of her co-star Ian McKellen and the director Bill Condon. She further appreciated the script by stating that it was a wonderful, twisty thriller that she thought would be fun to work in. She also took a subtle jab at the films written for actors after they cross a certain age threshold in the industry. Helen Mirren said that it is nice to do a film about old people that is not about Alzheimer’s or cancer.

He concluded his interview by stating that it was high time that he collaborated with Helen Mirren on a project and hopes that it happens again.

The Good Liar is a film about a con-man (Sir Ian McKellen) who is set to a recently widowed woman named Betty (Dame Helen Mirren). The Good Liar has been directed by Bill Condon. It also stars Russell Tovey and Jim Carter in supporting roles. The Good Liar is set to release on November 15.
