The Witcher: All about the game, Books and Upcoming series
The Witcher: The Game
The game was extremely popular amongst fans. The three Witcher games became an instant success upon their respective releases. The story in the games follows the struggles of Geralt of Rivia. The first two editions of the games are level-based and do not allow the player to explore outside the mission assigned. Both the games are story-driven and make the user stick primarily to the story. The third edition of the game, however, was a massive success as it enabled an open world setting. The players could explore and also play side quests. The series, in general, was an extremely thrilling experience for gamers as they immersed themselves in the rich medieval fantasy setting.
The Witcher: The Books
The Witcher books were written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, and it is in his universe that both the game and series are set. The first few books introduced the Witcher and were an anthology of his various adventures. The latter half of the book series focuses on the journey of Geralt as he tries to find his missing ward, Ciri. The games were a sequel to the books. The upcoming Netflix series will be an adaptation of the novels.
The Witcher: Series
The trailer for the Witcher series was released on YouTube and it has many iconic scenes from the books. Geralt is heard saying his iconic dialogue “Evil is Evil. Lesser, greater, middling… Makes no difference”. Further on the trailer depicts a scene with The Dryads and Ciri, it also shows us Ciri’s vision in the desert. The famous battle of Cintra is depicted in the trailer. The legendary sorceress Triss Merigold can be spotted in the trailer as well. Nearing the end of the trailer we can see Geralt getting his potion face as he is faced against a giant spider.
