Wendy Williams snaps at audience, asks them to turn their phones off
The Emmy-nominated TV host was taping the 'Wendy Williams Show' when she snapped at the audience and asked to keep the phone on silent or leave the show.

American television host Wendy Williams snapped at the audience members while taping her show on October 8. According to an American news channel, the Emmy-nominated host was taping the Wendy Williams Show when she snapped at the audience in the middle of a segment. "Is somebody's phone on?" the 55-year-old asked, making it clear about her dislike for interruptions. “Get out! Get out! Turn that phone off now, sir, ma'am, whoever you are. Just, please, kindly.” she said.
"Being overdramatic"
Later, Wendy Williams asked the audience to put their phone on silent but acknowledged that she “was being overdramatic”. The host drew a mixed reaction of shock. During the show, she also revealed that she will be getting a star on the Hollywood walk of fame next week, which elicited a positive response from the audience. The stars represent the achievements of entertainment industry personalities and are embedded in the sidewalks along few blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Hollywood, California.
Wendy, the bestselling author
Wendy Williams, who started her career working for a radio station, has written several books including a New York Times bestselling autobiography. The Wendy Williams Show is in its 11th season which started in 2008 as a six-week television trial of her own talk show. The show has been renewed through the 2019-20 season. Williams revealed in March this year, at her show, that she had started living in a ‘sober house’ to get treated for cocaine addiction. She got married to television producer Kevin Hunter in 1997. In April 2019, Williams filed for divorce after being married for 22 years. An entertainment portal reported that Williams had to shell out $250,000 for Kevin Hunter so that he can ‘secure new living arrangements’.
