Marvel Studios' most-anticipated venture 'Avengers: Endgame' finally hit the theatres on Friday, April 26, and it is a visual spectacle in every sense of the word. The journey that started back in 2008 with 'Iron Man' finally culminated with the 22nd venture of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the dramatic conclusion is way beyond the expectations of the audience. Fans have been eagerly waiting for the superhero flick, and now when it's released, let's see what's it all about.

Setting the scene

The film starts from where it ended in the 'Avengers: Infinity War'. It shows Tony Stark aka Iron Man stuck in the space with the other survivor Nebula. He is soon to run out of oxygen and has lost all hopes to live. Meanwhile, Thanos did exactly what he said and wiped out 50% of the living creatures after possessing all the infinity stones. The Avengers are all broken and are trying to 'move on'.

Plot

It is very difficult to reveal the plot of the film without giving out spoilers as every scene in the film is very much important. To keep it safe, let us put it this way, that 'giving up' and 'moving on' are not something our superheroes are much-accustomed to, so they did exactly what they are expected to do and teamed up yet again for a final battle. In fact, the team got some new members including Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, the supremely powerful Captain Marvel and Gamora's sister Nebula.

After losing half of the team and other near and dear once in the snap, the Avengers decided to take one last chance to avenge the fallen. With all the Marvel superheroes coming together for the Endgame, one can say that the climactic conclusion for the Avengers franchise is absolutely mind-blowing.

Verdict

The initial reviews were right, incredible is definitely an understatement for a film like this. From the visuals to the action set pieces, it is a meticulously crafted masterpiece. The film joins the dots that have been spilt by the franchise over the years. With a twist in every other scene, Endgame explores the best of the Marvel superheroes. The film is an emotional roller-coaster that will give you goosebumps. It is funny, intriguing, heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time.

It is so engrossing that one might even find it hard to blink an eye. To describe it from a broader perspective, 'Avengers: Endgame' celebrates 11 years of friendship, unity, superpowers and trust of the Marvel superheroes.

The screenplay, direction, and performance of the actors are the best it could be. The Russo Brothers have definitely done a brilliant job helming the venture. The female superheroes of the MCU are also worth the praise, as they did an exceptional job. While the original Avengers: Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), did a splendid job, the new Avengers Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) and others were no less.

Cast: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt, Jeremy Renner, Evangeline Lilly, Jon Favreau, Brie Larson, Paul Rudd, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Bradley Cooper, and Josh Brolin.

What works: Everything

What doesn't: It's too good a movie to have something that doesn't work.
