Harjit Singh Sehgal, popularly known as Baba Sehgal, introduced hip-hop to the Indian music scene by adding a comic twist to it in many of his videos. A playback singer with several hit songs under his belt, he has been recently making ripples in the social media with his unique rib-tickling topical poetries. After entertaining a generation with his ‘desi rap’, the 53-year-old rapper-musician has taken to Instagram to entertain people with his poetry.

Best of Baba Sehgal’s topical poetry

The most recent one was a comical take on a girl’s teeth. He also released an official music video on YouTube as well. The poem is apparently a parody of the old school song, I want it that way by Backstreet Boys. He wrote: “Tu ek badi aag hai, Sabun ki jhaag hai. Tujhme koi baat ha. Shining tera daant hai. SHINING TERA DAANT HAI.”

The next poem was a morning greeting. He took to Instagram to share a video in which he said, “Nobody cares that your apartment is rented or your own, people are prisoners of their phones, that is why it is called a cell phone.”

The next topical comedy that Baba Sehgal shared was a funny take on samosas. He wrote: “Tum aaye meri zindagi mein baat ban gayi. Samosa mein chutney daali, chaat ban gayi.”
