Sarkar teaser: Thalapathy Vijay-Keerthy Suresh starrer to give 'Thugs of Hindostan' competition this Diwali
The teaser of the much-awaited Vijay-starrer was released on Friday and it has everything that you'd expect from a commercial entertainer.
After the much controversial 'Mersal' last year, which had stirred a row over scenes depicting demonetisation and GST, Thalapathy Vijay is back with another film, 'Sarkar'. The teaser of the movie was released on Friday and this time again the story has its roots in politics. In the video, we see Vijay's character as 'corporate monster', who is famous internationally and his visit to India sets tongues wagging. But more than the corporate honchos, it is the politicians that need to be worried more as his interest is not in acquiring another company, but in casting his vote. Mystery brews over the casting of his vote and that sets off his battle with the powers-to-be. Not among the ones to give up without hitting back, Vijay's character is then seen taking matters into his hands to bring about a revolution and show what is the real 'Sarkar'(government).
The teaser gives us a glimpse of everything that you'd expect in a masala Tamil entertainer, with Vijay taking on the baddies in stylised action sequences. Not to forget the dance sequences, that we see briefly and with music by A R Rahman, fans are without a doubt going to look forward to the movie. Keerthy Suresh, who is riding high on the critical acclaim of 'Mahanati', is only seen briefly in the teaser, sharing glances and supporting Vijay in his fight.
'Sarkar' is helmed by A R Murugadoss and the filmmaker reunites with the lead actor after the successful 'Thupakki.' Even the remake of 'Thupakki', titled 'Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty', was a success at the Bollywood box office. There's no doubt that the expectations would be high this time around too.
'Sarkar' is gearing up for release during Diwali and the makers of 'Thugs of Hindostan' surely have a battle on their hands, not just in Southern territories, but also internationally. This is despite the fact that 'Thugs of Hindostan' has also been dubbed in Tamil, apart from Telugu. 'Sarkar', also stars Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Yogi Babu, among others.
