Venkaiah Naidu hails Chiranjeevi-starrer 'Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy'
Vice President Venkaiah Naidu hailed Chiranjeevi's 'Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy' after a screening. He praised the movie for its performances and direction.
After an over two-week successful run at the box office, the team of Chiranjeevi’s Telugu film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy held a special screening of the period action drama for the Vice President Venkaiah Naidu. The Vice Presidnet was extremely impressed with the movie after watching it with the lead actor-former Union Minister. He termed the performances as ‘outstanding’ and ‘impactful’ while lauding the direction of the movie by Surender Reddy as ‘impressive.’
Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and his family members watched Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy in Delhi on Wednesday. His official Twitter handle tweeted several pictures from the event, where Chiranjeevi, also dressed in white like Venkaiah Naidu, is seen welcoming him with a bouquet, shaking hands with him, having an animated conversation, speaking to the media and then posing for pictures.
Venkaiah Naidu tweeted along with the hashtag of the movie and also tagging Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan, who is the producer of the movie. He wrote, “I compliment Shri Chiranjeevi, Shri Amitabh Bachchan and other stars of the film for their outstanding performances and Shri Surender Reddy for the impressive direction.”
The Vice President also tweeted in Hindi and Telugu. He is also from Andhra Pradesh and highlighted the titular character Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy along with their state name and his freedom movement in the 19th century. “The movie's plot was developed on the basis of a rebellion against the British rule led by Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy from Rayalaseema region of #AndhraPradesh,” the veteran politician tweeted.
Earlier this year, the Vice President had praised another Telugu movie, Mahesh Babu-starrer Maharshi, for being the story of villagers and farmers.
Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy
Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy reportedly earned over Rs 100 crore worldwide. The movie fared the best in the Telugu-speaking states and other regions of the South. Amitabh Bachchan has featured in a cameo in the movie, while it also stars Nayanthara, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ravi Kishan, Jagapathy Babu, Vijay Sethupathi, among others. The war drama was particularly hailed for its action sequences. The movie could have probably done better than it did in the other parts of the country, if not for the juggernaut of War, which released with Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and went on to set records.
