WATCH: Not just Dhoni, but Vijay-Nayanthara also get a rapturous reception on sets in Chennai
It was just a few days ago that Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s walk to the middle of the Chepauk stadium for a practice session before IPL was greeted by thousands as if he had scored a century. Even the welcome that film stars Vijay-Nayanthara received at the shooting location for their movie, tentatively known as ‘Thalapathy 63’, was not any less in intensity.
It was just a few days ago that Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s walk to the middle of the Chepauk stadium for a practice session before IPL was greeted by thousands as if he had scored a century. The rapturous reception for just a practice match had left his ex-teammates like Scott Styris, Albie Morkel and Harsha Bhogle overwhelmed, but even the welcome that film stars Vijay-Nayanthara received at the shooting location for their movie, tentatively known as ‘Thalapathy 63’, was not any less in intensity.
While the crowd, in this case, is not as much as at the stadium and there is not that much of space either, the passion undoubtedly is the same. Since the shooting has started at the SRM University, fans wait for hours with anticipation to catch a glimpse of their favourite stars. As the actors arrive to enter their vanity van or depart in their cars, they are greeted with a rapturous reception filled with screams, claps and whistles. If you see the video carefully, one would notice people at the top of houses, trees and other platforms so that they are able to see Vijay and Nayanthara.

Not to forget, it’s the same place where the huge crowd had led to a fence collapsing, after which Vijay and the members of the crew had immediately reacted so that none of the fans are injured.
While you may disagree with who received the bigger reception, you’ll definitely agree that people from Chennai absolutely adore their favourite stars.
