Jackie Shroff recalls Jailer co-star Rajinikanth's kind gesture on set

Jackie Shroff amazed by Rajinikanth's humble act

In an interview with Film Companion, Jackie Shroff recalled the incident and said, "We were shooting, and he wrapped the shoot. He thought I also wrapped and he went all the way down to his car. Then he realized and asked, 'Where is Jackie?' Someone told him, 'He is shooting.' He came back all the way from his car, back to me, which was a walk through the 500 people who were going ballistic. He came back just to say, 'I wanted to say bye to you.'"

Amazed by Rajinikanth's down-to-earth nature, Shroff called him "Thalaiva" and pointed out why he is loved by millions. "He has the heart of his mother," he added.

Rajinikanth and Jackie Shroff's bond over the years

The camaraderie between Rajinikanth and Jackie Shroff goes back several years. They first worked together in the 1987 film Uttar Dakshin, where Rajinikanth portrayed Shroff's step brother. Since then, the two actors have shared a strong bond and remained close friends.

Speaking fondly of their relationship, Shroff shared, "He is very close to me, he is my family, my soulmate. We don't have to meet; our souls are connected." 

Meanwhile, Jailer is an action-packed film directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, marking Rajinikanth's first collaboration with the director. The movie's cast includes notable names such as Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, and Malayalam actor Vinayakan, among others. Additionally, the film features special cameo appearances by Mohanlal and Shivarajkumar, adding to the excitement surrounding the project.
