Jailer director Nelson Dilipkumar's film with this superstar to get a sequel

Jailer director Nelson Dilipkumar's debut film is reportedly all set to get a sequel. The director is currently awaiting the release of Rajinikanth's Jailer.

Nelson Dilipkumar is awaiting the release of Jailer, hisa first film with Rajinikanth. Its audio launch was held on July 28. At the event, actor Yogi Babu ended up sharing some important news about  Nelson Dilipkumar's upcoming projects. He essentially confirmed that the filmmaker's debut film is set to get a sequel.

Nelson Dilipkumar's debut film confirmed for a sequel


At the audio launch for Jailer, Yogi Babu revealed that Nelson Dilipkumar's directorial debut - Kolamaavu Kokila, would soon be getting a sequel. The film starred Nayanthara in the lead with Yogi Babu playing an important role in the film. Its Hindi remake, titled Good Luck Jerry, starred Janhvi Kapoor in Nayanthara's role.

The plot of the film centres around a mild-mannered girl who purposefully choses to get involved with the mafia to arrange funds for her terminally ill mother. Incidentally, Yogi Babu's character Shekhar in the film ends up falling in love with Nayanthara's Kokila.  Kolamaavu Kokila featured Saranya Ponvannan, RS Shivaji, Charles Vinoth and Hareesh Peradi among others.

Will Nelson silence his critics with Jailer?


Nelson, meanwhile, is gearing up for the release of Jailer. This will be his first release after Beast. The Vijay-led film did not live up to expectations. Rajinikanth soon started getting calls from distributors to remove Nelson from the project. The superstar revealed how a meeting was held with the producers in which it was revealed that the makers did not lose money because of Beast. Nelson thus stood remained associated with the film. So, will he be able to bouce back with Jailer? We'll find out on August 10.
