Rajnikanth starrer Jailer is scheduled to release on August 10 and on the same day a Malayalam movie of the same name will also release.

Jailer vs Jailer set for August 10 

Rajinikanth starrer Jailer is set to release date for August 10. In the latest development, Jailer, the Sakkir Madathil directorial with the same name, has also booked the same date to hit the big screens. The Malayalam movie is headlined by Dhyan Sreenivasan and the Tamil movie is led by Rajinikanth.

On July 25, the Malayalam movie's makers announced that the film will also release on August 10. Director Sakkir Madathil took to his Instagram to share the poster of the movie along with the caption, “August 10 ❤️ please support and share.” The film is a thriller that depicts the escape of a prisoner from tight security.

Jailer movies in a legal battle 

The two films have landed in a legal soup as well over similar titles. The makers of Malayalam Jailer had previously requested the producers of the Rajinikanth film to change the title, at least in Kerala.

After their request was rejected, the makers have taken the matter to court as well. According to a report, the Madras High Court will hear pleas from both sides on August 2.
