Kangana Ranaut recently revealed in a media interaction that she would like to gain a foothold in the Telugu film industry. While talking about her work in Southern film industries, Ranaut mentioned that she was recently offered to play Goddess Parvati in a Telugu film. While Chandramukhi 2 marks Ranaut’s second venture in Tamil cinema, Ranaut hasn’t worked in a Telugu movie since the 2009 film Ek Niranjan.

Kangana to do a cameo as Goddess Parvati?
During an interaction with news portal TV5, Kangana Ranaut talked about her ambitions to do a Telugu film. Ranaut also shared that she has recently received an offer from Telugu film industry. It’s apparently a small role that requires only 3-4 days’ work, but it’s the role of Goddess Parvati.
Ranaut further said, talking about the development, “Now I have got an offer of a film, but it's a small role of Goddess Parvati. It is 3-4 days role. I hope that works out. Somewhere if I start in Telugu films, I can get more offers maybe." It is to be noted that Kangana Ranaut had earlier announced that she would be playing Goddess Sita in an upcoming production
Ranaut then spoke about how Chandramukhi 2 was a unique filming experience for her, considering how she had never done a horror comedy before. She added, “It’s also a big franchise. We have all seen it growing up. For me to be a part of it, to carry on such a big legacy - it’s been a tremendous experience for me.”
What do we know about Chandramukhi 2?
Chandramukhi 2 is the official sequel to Chandramukhi, which starred Rajinikanth and Jyotika in the lead roles. Ranaut also shared that Jyotika, the actress who played Chandramukhi in the 2005 film, also appreciated Ranaut’s look and performance in the sequel. Without wanting to reveal much about the film, Ranaut simply informed that there is more than one ghost in the film, unlike the previous Chandramukhi film and its remakes.
Chandramukhi 2 is directed by P. Vasu who has made more than 50 Tamil films in his career spanning over 43 years, including the 2005 original. Starring Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut, Chandramukhi 2 is slated to release on September 28.
