Nassar apologises for directing Mohanlal, Simran starrer Popcarn: It was a misstep
In 2003, Nassar directed a Tamil film titled Pop-Carn, starring Mohanlal and Simran. Now, in a recent interview, the actor has spoken about the film.
Nassar has extended an apology for his directorial venture Popcarn (2003), starring Mohanlal and Simran in the lead. The film, which was released in 2003, revolved around why marriages between celebrities can suffer due to conflicts between egos. The film was predicted to be a big hit but reportedly failed to leave a mark on the box office.

'It was a misstep,' says Nassar
In an interview with Mathrubhumi, Nassar took responsibility and said that it was "very bad". The actor-director said he didn't meet the expectations that he had set and apologised for the same. "The film I directed alongside Mohanlal was a misstep, and for that, I apologise sincerely," he said.

Speaking about Mohanlal, Nassar said that the superstar possesses a "remarkable understanding" of his co-stars, and Mohanlal doesn't have an ego about being such a superstar. "Beyond Mohanlal's superstar status, I want to focus on the genuine person that he is," said Nassar.
Nassar on working with Mohanlal
In the same interview, Nassar revealed that it was a "liberating experience" working with Mohanlal. He added that the Lucifer actor creates an environment where his co-stars can perform with mental constraints. Elaborating on his work relationship with Mohanlal, Nassar recalled his initial days working in Mukham (1990). He was unfamiliar with Malayalam, so Mohanlal helped him understand the dialogues and guided him on how to deliver and pose.
Nassar and Mohanlal have acted in several films together, including Mukham (1990), Dhanam (1991), Butterflies (1993), Guru (1997), Rakthasaakshikal Sindaabaad (1998), Olympian Antony Adam (1999) and Udayon (2005), among others.
