Salaar: Hombale Films reveal reason behind delay in Prabhas starrer in new apology post

Prabhas' highly anticipated film Salaar Part 1 Ceasefire was slated to release in theatres on September 28. However, the makers of the movie, Hombale Films, released an official statement and shared that the new release date will be announced soon. They also apologised for the delay in the release of the film starring Prabhas, and Prithiviraj Sukumaran, among others.

Hombale Films confirms postponement of Salaar's release date

The makers of Salaar took to X, formerly Twitter, and shared an official statement confirming the rumours of the release date being postponed. They wrote, "We deeply appreciate your unwavering support for #Salaar. With consideration, we must delay the original September 28 release due to unforeseen circumstances."

"Please understand this decision is made with care, as we're committed to delivering an exceptional cinematic experience. Our team is working tirelessly to meet the highest standards. The new release date will be revealed in due course. Stay with us as we make the final touches on #SalaarCeaseFire and thank you for being a part of this incredible journey," Hombale Films added. Although the makers have not announced the new release date yet, it has been speculated that the film will be eyeing a release date coinciding with festivals like Sankranti or Diwali. 

Speculations around Salaar's release date

As per a Bollywood Hungama report, the makers of Salaar have been eyeing one of two options. The film is rumoured to commence its theatrical run on Diwali this year - in which case it will clash with another mega-release, Tiger 3. The source told Bollywood Hungama, "Diwali will be an ideal period for Salaar since the back-to-back holidays will give a boost to the collections of the film all over India. At the same time, it’ll have to co-exist with Tiger 3. In fact, both films are big-scale action films meant for audiences of all kinds. This will be an epic clash on the lines of Dil vs Ghayal and Lagaan vs Gadar."
