Emmy Awards 2019: Sacred Games, Lust Stories, Radhika Apte nominated
The International Emmy Award nominations were announced. ‘Sacred Games’, ‘Lust Stories’, ‘The Remix’ and Radhika Apte have been nominated for the same.

Indian artists will be gearing up to make the country proud on a global level as the nominations for the International Emmy Awards was announced on Thursday. Indian ventures made it to the coveted list as ‘Sacred Games’ and ‘Lust Stories’ were among the nominees for Best Drama and Best Miniseries respectively. Not just that, Radhika Apte is in contention to bag the Best Actress award. Moreover, reality show ‘The Remix’ is also in contention in the Non-Scripted Entertainment category.
Indian ventures impress
Apart from Netflix and Radhika Apte, the other common factor involving ‘Lust Stories’ and ‘Sacred Games’ ventures was Anurag Kashyap. The filmmaker exulted over the three nominations. Anurag Kashyap is the co-director of ‘Sacred Games’, sharing the directorial responsibilities with Vikramaditya Motwane in the first season and with Neeraj Ghaywan in the second season, which was released last month.
The series primarily stars Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, while Radhika Apte, Pankaj Tripathi, Kubbra Sait, Kalki Koechlin, Ranvir Shorey, Surveen Chawla have featured in it over the two seasons. The first season, in particular, was extremely popular and became a sensation for its memes.

Power of 4
‘Lust Stories’, meanwhile, is an anthology of four short movies directed by Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar and Dibakar Banerjee. Anurag Kashyap's’ short featured Radhika Apte, for which she’s been nominated. She had starred alongside ‘Sairat’ star Akash Thosar in the film.
Karan Johar’s short film featured Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani and Neha Dhupia while Zoya Akhtar’s short film featured Bhumi Pednekar and Neil Bhoopalam. Dibarkar Banerjee’s short film had Manisha Koirala, Sanjay Kapoor and Jaideep Ahlawat in the lead roles. The same four directors had similarly directed four short films in the anthology ‘Bombay Talkies’ in 2013. Interestingly, the quartet is now gearing up to bring four horror stories next, titled ‘Ghost Stories’.
‘The Remix’, meanwhile, is an Amazon Prime original which is being judged by Sunidhi Chauhan, Amit Trivedi and Nucleya. The show had aired in March this year and ran up till May in 10 episodes.
