The Green Lantern was first introduced in 1941 by Martin Nodell and Bill Finger. He is a DC Comics character and one of the seven founding members of the Justice League. Recently, it was announced that Berlanti Productions and Waner Bros are teaming up again to make a Green Lantern TV show. Greg Berlanti, who has developed projects like Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, Titans, Doom Patrol, Black Lightning, Batwoman, Legends of Tomorrow, and Stargirl, will be introducing Green Lantern to HBO Max.

It is reported that Berlanti will be adapting Strange Adventures as an inspiration for the series to make the Green Lantern series for the HBO streamer. Berlanti also expressed that the show will be the biggest DC show ever made. The show will be set in space, and he added that he cannot reveal more details right now. The HBO Max streaming service will be launching in May 2020 and the subscription cost to watch all the shows on the streaming platform will be $14.99/Month. It is speculated that the show will also be launching with the streaming service in May 2020.
Geoff Johns has been working on a Green Lantern film project for quite a long time now. It is not clear whether the series and the movie will be different from John's project. Geoff John has authored most acclaimed Green Lantern stories. In the comic book world, his work is regarded as the best by the DC comics fans.
Green Lantern was last seen on the big screen in the Justice League’s historical battle between Steppenwolf and the forces of Earth. Steppenwolf also referred to the Green Lantern in the trailer of Justice League. Before this, the ring slinger was seen on the big screen in 2011 where Ryan Reynolds played the character. Though it did somewhat well at the box office, the movie did not satisfy its fans.
