Brightburn (2019)

James Gunn, the director of Hollywood superhits like the Guardians Of The Galaxy franchise produced this small budget indie horror film. The film was a twisted take at the origin story of Superman. A young boy of an alien species is raised on earth and grows up to realise that he has superpowers. This premise is similar to the origin story of Superman and the film also draws some references to the comic-book character. But, the film takes a dark and horrific turn when the protagonist turns evil and goes on a killing spree.

A Quiet Place (2018)

The famous star-couple Emily Blunt and John Krasinski starred in this horror flick. The film was also John Krasinski's directorial debut. The horror film revolved around a family forced to live in silence as monsters who hunt to the sound of things are on the loose in a post-apocalyptic backdrop. This film keeps the audience at the edge of their seats as the tension and the scares are silent rather than the usual loud jump scares in a horror film.
