Jay Soni's presence on popular show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has been grabbing headlines for a while now. The actor has bid farewell to the show. While producer Rajan Shahi referred to Jay's exit as 'pre-planned,' the news has left fans saddened by the departure of a character they've come to embrace. Recently, he spoke about his thoughts on his journey with the show.

When asked about potential apprehensions due to his character coming between the show's lead pair Abhimanyu (Harshad Chopda) and Akshara (Pranali Rathod) and receiving backlash for the same, Jay Soni revealed that as an actor, he solely focused on his performance. He said that he portrayed his character with utmost loyalty and honesty in portraying his character.

In an interview with India forums, he said that the dedication to his craft shone through as he clarified that his primary role as an actor is to perform with excellence. He mentioned that he chose to concentrate on his acting without allowing external factors like trolls to impact his commitment to the role.

"If I started thinking of all this, I would have to sit at home and well, I have a family to run, so I did not think of all this. My job is to act; that is what I did and will always do," he said.

'This show was the best comeback'

Jay Soni expressed immense gratitude for the opportunity he received. He highlighted how his character within the legendary show had multiple layers which made it a happy moment for him as an actor to portray.

Jay said that his role on Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai was a highly anticipated comeback for himself. He shared that the show's stature, the reputation of its producer Rajan Shahi, and the production house all contributed to the significance of this role in his career. This show was the best comeback I could have ever requested. And above it all, the character had so many layers, so to perform this character as an actor was a treat," he said.
