Ahsoka teaser: Late RRR actor Ray Stevenson appears as villain Baylan Skoll

The Star Wars multimedia franchise has been expanding throughout the years. Created by George Lucas in 1977 with the titular film, the franchise has been grown via games, novels, comic books and more. After the immense success of The Mandalorian, several TV series based on different characters from the franchise have also been made. The latest Star Wars series to come out is Ahsoka. 

3 things you need to know: 

• Ahsoka will feature actor RRR star Ray Stevenson. He died earlier this year but shot his scenes beforehand. 
• Ahsoka features actress Rosario Dawson in the titular role.
• Actor Lars Mikkelsen will reprise his role as Grand Admiral Thrawn, which he previously did in the animated show.

Ahsoka teases a galaxy-wide conspiracy 

The teaser of Ahsoka, titled Now or Never, was released recently, and gave a glimpse into the larger challenges lying ahead of the titular heroine. The teaser shows the imminent reunion of rebels, namely Ahsoka Tano, Hera Syndulla and Sabine Wren against constantly expanding enemies. 

Ahsoka will feature two immensely iconic villains from the Star Wars franchise. Grand Admiral Thrawn, who has been featured in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, will be seen on the show. Moreover, late actor Ray Stevenson, who passed away on May 25, will be seen in the show as Baylan Skoll, posthumously. 

Who will be seen in Ahsoka?

Alongside Rosario Dawkins, several notable actors will be seen in the spin-off show. Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who has made well-recognised appearances in Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, Fargo Season 3, and 10 Cloverfield Lane will be seen in Ahsoka as Hera Syndulla.

Actor Hayden Christensen will once again be seen as Anakin Skywalker in the series, while Natasha Liu Bordizzo will be seen as Sabine Wren. Actor Eman Esfandi will play the role of Ezra Bridger while Ivanna Sakhno will play the role of Shin Hati. The first two episodes of Ahsoka will premiere on Disney+ on August 23.
