Kareena Kapoor says Jaane Jaan co-stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Vijay Varma intimidated her
Jaane Jaan is based on a Japanese novel titled 'The Devotion of Suspect X.' Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, Jaane Jaan is slated to release on Netflix on September 21.
At the trailer launch event for their Netflix film Jaane Jaan, actress Kareena Kapoor opened up about her preparation for the role, and how her co-stars Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat ‘intimidated her’ with their homework. Jaane Jaan is directed by Kahaani fame Sujoy Ghosh.

Kareena Kapoor was all praises for both Varma and Ahlawat at the event, even saying that she felt like a student at many points. The Jab We Met actress said how her husband Saif Ali Khan had ‘warned her’ before she began shooting for Jaane Jaan, so she was prepared for an intense experience. Kapoor added, “Saif had told me not to treat this shoot like a picnic. He said, ‘You better be on your toes and stop being a backbencher.’”
Kapoor further elaborated on how at many points, she even forgot her lines in the middle of a shot, being so engrossed looking at Varma and Ahlawat’s performances. She added, "I have never done that earlier in my career, with other actors." Kapoor stated that while Ahlawat was always well prepared for his role, Vijay Varma's style was more similar to hers. She added, "Vijay is a little like me. He is laughing around on the sets, but his every take is different from the others. Yet, I can also tell that it’s very well thought of."

Kareena also recalled early discussions with director Sujoy Ghosh, where she remembers telling Ghosh that she wanted to work with ‘some really amazing actors, actors who can add freshness, actors one can learn from.' Kareena concluded by saying, "An actor should constantly be threatened by other actors on set. It’s nice to have that slight alertness around."
