The Barbie fever continues to rage at theatres as the film inches closer to completing 4 glorious weeks of its theatrical run. The film has re-sparked an interest in the Barbiecore aesthetic, something that is being massively capitalised on by brands left, right and centre. Adding its wagon to the Barbie train now, is science. A scientific theory allegedly provides coordinates of where Barbie Land would presumably, based off a small detail observed in the film.

Barbie Lands coordinates revealed

Neil deGrasse Tyson, an astrophysicist, has built a scientific theory around the whereabouts of Barbie Land. This comes after the man of science observed a minute detail in the film - the location of the moon. This seemingly irrelevant detail was used by Tyson to spin a scientifically backed theory about where the plush pink Barbie dreamscape would actually be located, if it were real, that is.

The estimated coordinates provided by Tyson place Barbie Land somewhere in Florida. In a Facebook post he shared, "In Barbie the Movie, the Moon's orientation places Barbie World between 20 & 40 degrees North Latitude on Earth. Trees further constrain latitude between 20 & 30 degrees. The Sun & Moon rose & set over the ocean. So if it’s in the United States, then Barbie World lands somewhere in the Florida Keys."

There's no stopping Barbie

This one-of-a-kind scientific estimate has only further pumped the hype surrounding the film, the doll and the movie. With a long time left for its theatrical run and it having comfortably recovered its cost, the Barbie fever appears to be here to stay as the film closes in on its first month of theatrical run. Starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling among a larger ensemble cast, the film carries heavy social messaging particularly in lieu of a feminist outlook.
