Sandeep Reddy Vanga is currently basking in the success of his latest outing to the cinemas, Animal. Despite the bourgeoning criticism against the films allegedly strong misogynistic and violent themes, Animal, since its theatrical release on December 1, has been minting bog money at the box office, with its worldwide collections having crossed ₹635 crores and counting. A rather pivotal sequence in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal is when Ranbir Kapoor's Rannvijay Singh wages war on his father Balbir Singh's (played by Anil Kapoor) attempted assassin. The hero of the sequence however, is not Kapoor's Rannvijay Singh. It is, instead, a larger than life automatic multi-pronged machine which proceeds to wreak havoc, flipping the narrative in favour of the protagonist.
A picture now, of Sandeep Reddy Vanga, seated atop the grand piece of work, has been doing the rounds of the internet. The director can also be seen pointing a gun at the camera. For the unversed, the film has immensely strong themes of violence, going as far as being rated a full five points by the British Board of Film Classification under the violence category.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga recently got mobbed in USA
Sandeep Reddy Vanga was on a two-stop USA tour in lieu of attending a meet and greet event for fans. While on his way out of the Dallas event, the director found himself stuck in the parking lot - the reason being he was being mobbed by a hoard fans, chanting his name.
Referring to his USA audience at the same event, Vanga had said, "What I really like about this crowd is that I didn't hear any questions on misogyny. I'm so happy you are the right crowd. You saw Animal as a film."
