Golden Globes 2024: Robert Downey Jr wins Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Oppenheimer

Golden Globe Award 2024 is currently underway to honour the standouts in film and television industry. This year's ceremony is hosted by comedian Jo Koy from the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. Now, the winners of some of the categories have been announced. Amongst the few winners, Robert Downey Jr won the 81st Golden Globe Award in the Best Supporting Actor category for his performance in the film Oppenheimer.

Robert Downey Jr bagged his fourth Golden Globe Award this year with his performance in the film Oppenheimer. He won in the Best Supporting Actor category for his role as Lewis Strauss in Cillian Murphy starrer Oppenheimer. Golden Globes 2024 shared the actor's achievement on their social media handle and wrote, "👏 Congratulations to the Best Supporting Male Actor – Motion Picture winner Robert Downey Jr. for his role in Oppenheimer! #GoldenGlobes."

Robert Downey Jr addressed the crowd at the Golden Globes 2024. "Yeah, yeah, I took a beta blocker so this will be a breeze," he says. The actor said he's glad Universal "went all in" for Nolan and crew to "render a goddamn masterpiece". He called it a "most improved" award and thanked his wife Susan, who's "made an art out of extracting me from my comfort zone".

American actress-comedian Ali Wong was feted with the Best Female Actor -- Limited Series, Anthology Series or Television Motion Picture honour at the currently underway 81st Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hills, California. After American actress-comedian Ali Wong won the Best Female Actor -- Limited Series, Anthology Series or Television Motion Picture award, her co-actor from Beef, Steven Yeun won his first Golden Globe for Best Male Actor in Limited Series, Anthology Series or Television Motion Picture for the Beef.
