Cricket is one of the widely accepted and loved sports in India. From getting glued to the television for hours when the Indian team is on the field to cheering for our favourite players in the stadium, Indians have always shown their utmost enthusiasm when it comes to cricket. One more thing is very famous in India and that is Bollywood. So the combination of two rules the hearts of a lot of Indian audience. Here is a list of actors who turned cricketers for their movies.

Shahid Kapoor

Shahid Kapoor is preparing for his upcoming movie, Jersey. The film is a Hindi adaptation of a Telugu movie with the same name. The film will be directed by  Gowtam Tinnanuri. He has also directed the Telugu version of the movie. The movie is slated to hit the theatres next year. Shahid Kapoor would be seen playing the role of a cricketer, who is a Ranji player.

Ranveer Singh

Ranveer Singh is all set to be into the shoes of the iconic cricketer of the Indian cricket team, Kapil Dev in '83. The movie is based on Indian cricket team’s 1983 Cricket World Cup win held in England. The movie is slated to hit the theatres on April 10, 2020.

Sushant Singh Rajput

Sushant Singh Rajput gave one of his most amazing performances in the movie M.S.Dhoni – The Untold Story. He portrays the role of the Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The actor with an utter dedication did justice to the character and the movie was a blockbuster hit.

Emraan Hashmi

Emraan Hashmi was seen in the role of the famed and successful captain of the Indian cricket team, Mohammad Azharuddin. From success to facing a setback and fighting until proved innocent or guilty, the movie narrates the struggle and journey of the cricketer. Emraan was appreciated by both critics and the audience for his role as Azhar.

Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan plays the role of a villager Bhuvan in the film who learns how to play cricket and accepts the challenge given by Britishers. Aamir Khan along with other villagers plays terrifically well and wins the game. The movie was a superhit at the box office.
