Who is Nasir Hussain?

A renowned Bollywood filmmaker, Nasir Hussain directed the 1973 film 'Yaadon Ki Baraat' featuring Dharmendra. He also wrote and produced Aamir Khan's 1988 film 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak'. He also produced Aamir's 1992 film 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar'.

Why a special picture of Shammi Kapoor?

Hussain directed 'Tumsa Nahin Dekha', a film that made a star of Shammi Kapoor. Kapoor and Hussain made another hit, 'Dil Deke Dekho' (1959), opposite Asha Parekh.

Nasir Hussain died of heart attack in Mumbai on 13 March, 2002. He is the brother of filmmaker Tahir Hussain, Aamir Khan's father. Nasir Hussain was married to assistant choreographer Ayesha Khan who worked on several films like 'Baharon Ke Sapne'.

Nasir Hussain has two kids — Mansoor Khan, who directed films like 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak', 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander' and 'Akele Hum Akele Tum' and Nuzhat Khan, a costume desinger who worked on films like 'Lagaan', 'Raakh' and 'Josh'.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Aamir Khan recently appeared on a show titled 'Rubaru Roshni'. 'Thugs of Hindostan' actor will also attend the 19th Belfast Film Festival, Northern Ireland’s leading film festival, on April 16. Mark Cousins, Chairman of the festival, said, "Many of us fell in love with films because of big-hearted movies like It's A Wonderful Life and Big. That's the sort of films that Aamir Khan makes. His films have the spirit of Frank Capra movies. He uses his stardom as boldly as Jane Fonda."
