Khichdi 2 cast shares hilarious anecdotes from the sets
In a recent chat with Pinkvilla, the cast of Khichdi 2 was asked about their funniest memories from their journey. Praful, portrayed by Rajeev Mehta, took a trip down memory lane, recalling a humourous moment from Khichdi Part 1. He shared a scene where Himanshu, played by JD Majethia, narrates a bad dream to Praful, saying, "Himanshu ek scene me mujhe kehte hai, 'Ae jija ji, kal raat ko maine ek bohut bura sapna dekha'" (In one scene, Himanshu says to me, 'Hey, brother-in-law, last night I had a really bad dream').
Supriya Pathak, who portrays Hansa, chimed in with her own hilarious recollection. She remembered a scene from Khichdi Part 1 where Chakki comes running while Praful and Hansa are seated in the car. Chakki exclaims, "Mumma phone hai, phone hai toh Hansa kehti hai 'Very good, ab ye bata ye kya hai?'" (Mum, it's a phone. It's a phone, and Hansa says, 'Very good, now tell me what’s this?').
The ever-evolving Khichdi franchise
The Khichdi franchise has evolved over the years, encompassing a popular TV series, two movies, and an enduring legacy of laughter. In 2010, the movie Khichdi: The Movie delighted fans with its quirky humour and featured the original cast.
Aatish Kapadia, the creative force behind the success of Khichdi and Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, is once again directing the much-anticipated sequel, Khichdi 2: Mission Paanthukistan. The teaser and trailer have already sparked enthusiasm, and fans eagerly await the continuation of the laughter-filled journey.
Khichdi, a TV series that first premiered on Star Plus in 2002, has become a cultural phenomenon in India. Its success led to the creation of Instant Khichdi in 2005 and a new series in 2018, showcasing the hilarious escapades of the Parekh family, a lovable Gujarati family residing in an old mansion.
