Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is one of the most loved actor in the industry, which is evident from her fan following. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Ponniyin Selvan

Directed by Mani Ratnam, Ponniyin Selvan is an adaption of Tamil novel of the same name, written by Kalki Krishnamoorthy. Recently, the actor confirmed that she is playing a vital role in Mani Ratnam's ambitious project. According to reports, she will be seen in a negative role-playing Nandini. In the novel, Nandini is the wife of the chancellor and treasurer of the Chola kingdom, Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar. She is a strong woman who is hungry for power and plots the downfall of the Chola kingdom by manipulating her husband. However, any official confirmation is yet to be made.

In an interview with a leading daily, Aishwarya revealed about her being a part of the film. She said that, even though Mani has not formally announced it himself, she is working with him. Aishwarya made her acting debut in Mani Ratnam’s Iruvar in 1997. Talking about working with Mani, she said that she will always be more than thrilled, excited, overwhelmed, humbled, and just happy to work with her guru. In another interview with a daily, she was asked about the movie. She replied that it will be unfair to override Mani Ratman and speak about the film. Even though there is such warmth and familiarity in their professional relationship today, it is his wish to share details with the world whenever he chooses to, she added.

Ponniyin Selvan 

According to reports, Ponniyin Selvan has an impressive star cast. It includes Vikram, Mohan Babu, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anushka Shetty, Karthi, Keerthi Suresh, and many other promising actors. Shooting for the film is rumoured to start in December. It is reportedly produced under Lyca productions. However, any official confirmation about the project is yet to be made.
