Ajay Devgn tells Akshay Kumar what made their careers 'significant'

Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar have been similar in a lot of ways. On the personal front, both are Punjabis, both married their co-stars, both have one son and one daughter. And a lot of it is similar on the professional front too. Both are known to do multiple films in a year, both have been part of comedy franchises, both have played numerous negative roles, police officers, action heroes and have trademark stunts. All these factors have made them stand out from the Khans. And that’s probably the reason why the duo is among the rare few, apart from the Khans, to have carried on their stardom for so long. Interestingly, all of this started for the two actors in the same year, 1991. As Ajay Devgn geared up to celebrate 30 years of his career and a grand ‘century’ with Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, his 100th film, there was a brilliant exchange of words with Akshay. 'Khiladi Kumar' also recalled starting their career at the same time while wishing the Golmaal star the very best for his milestone, praising his growth from ‘strength to strength.’ Ajay shared with Akshay that the reason for their 'momentous' and 'significant' careers were the films, the love from fans and supportive industry colleagues. Akshay was also among the stars to wish him by sharing the poster. He wrote, “We started our journey in this industry together...30 years ago.And I’ve seen your graph only grow from strength to strength.And as you are all set to mark your century with #TanhajiTheUnsungWarrior,I wish you nothing but lots of love and luck.Shine on my friend @ajaydevgn.” Ajay replied, “Hi Akshay, like you said 3 decades and a momentous career. Akshay had made his debut with Saugandh in January that year. The duo featured in some films together, but most notable among them was Khakee, where Akshay played a police officer and Ajay the antagonist.
