Akshay Kumar takes cryptic dig at film's certification?
Akshay Kumar recently visited a theater in Mumbai for the screening of OMG 2 to gauge the audience's reaction after watching the film. After the screening, he addressed the viewers and expressed gratitude for their support. He interacted with the audience and listened to their opinions about the film's content.
Audience expressed disappointment about the film's A certification, stating that it limits access to an important message to teens, about who the movie is. Many appealed that the film be accessible to a wider audience, including teenagers who can benefit from its message.
Following viewers' testimony, Akshay Kumar playfully commented on the film's adult rating, saying, "Kamaal ki baat bataun, pehli adult film hai jo teenagers ke liye bani hai (The funny thing is that this is the first adult film which is made for teenagers)." The remark humorously highlighted the irony in film receiving an A certificate from CBFC.
Pankaj Tripathi expresses disappointment with A certification
Pankaj Tripathi previously voiced his disappointment with the A certification for OMG 2. He emphasised that OMG 2 carries a message aimed at teenagers between 12 and 18 years old and they are the ones who aren't watching the film. The actor said that he and the entire team were surprised by the A certificate, as they had hoped for a U/A rating.
For the unversed, the film delves into the topic of sex education and its integration into the school curriculum. However, due to its bold themes involving God and religion, the movie initially encountered challenges in obtaining a censor certificate. Eventually, it received approval with 27 modifications.
