Padman
The R.Balki directorial, Padman, released back in 2018. The film is the real-life story of Arunachalam Muruganantham who hails from the remote rural area of Tamil Nadu. Akshay Kumar essays the role of Muruganantham and finds solutions for sanitary napkins for women who do not have access to proper sanitary options.

2.0 is inspired by the story of Salim Ali, from Goa. Akshay Kumar is a birdman in the film, which is symbolic of Salim’s actions in real life. In the film, Salim protects endangered bird species and also tries to bring reforms in favour of the protection of birds. The S.Shankar directorial released back in 2018.
Airlift
The Airlift operation was spearheaded by a businessman based in Kuwait, late Mathunny Mathews. He helped thousands of stranded Indians during the invasion of Kuwait by the Iraqi army. Akshay Kumar essays the role of Mathews in the 2016 film, which is the real story of the invasion incident.
Gold
The film Gold is inspired by the real-life story of Balbir Singh who manifested the 1948 Olympic gold medal-winning feat of the Indian men’s hockey team. Akshay Kumar’s role in the film is inspired by Balbir’s real story, he is also the son of a freedom fighter in both real and reel story. The film was directed by Reema Kagti.
Rustom
Rustom is loosely based on the jury trial case on K.M.Nanavati, who was an Indian naval officer. Akshay Kumar essays the role of Nanavati, who reportedly murders his friend for having an affair with his wife. The film released back in 2016.
