Alia Bhatt: Here is all you need to know about the Bhatt family

Alia Bhatt is currently one of Bollywood’s most popular female actors. She made her debut with Karan Johar’s 2012 film Student of the Year. She is the daughter of Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan. Though she belongs to the Bhatt family, it has been said in reports that she did not get her debut role easily. Here is all you should know about Alia and her family.

Alia Bhatt’s grandfather Nanabhai Bhatt was a director of Hindi and Gujarati cinema. He is well known for his movies like Lal Qila and Kangan. Nanabhai Bhatt married Hemlata Bhatt and Shirin Mohammad Ali. From both his wives, he had a total of eight kids. These include Mahesh Bhatt, Robin Bhatt, Mukesh Bhatt, and Heena Suri. Mukesh Bhatt is a producer & Mahesh Bhatt director, writer, and producer.

Mahesh Bhatt married twice. His first marriage was with Lorraine Bright, also known as Kiran Bhatt. From his first marriage, Mahesh had two kids, Pooja Bhatt and Rahul Bhatt. Pooja was an actor and now is a film producer. Rahul Bhatt is a fitness trainer and an actor. Mahesh Bhatt married Soni Razdan, an actress, and had two daughters, Alia and Shaheen Bhatt. Alia is an actor in the Hindi film industry and Shaheen is a writer and director.

A close relation to Alia Bhatt is Mohit Suri, who is a cousin of Alia and nephew of Mahesh Bhatt. He is a director in the Hindi film industry. Emraan Hashmi is also a distant cousin of Alia Bhatt's and is the nephew of Mahesh Bhatt. He is an actor and has played varied roles in Bollywood.

Alia was last seen in Kalank where she played the role of Roop. The movie was directed by Abhishek Varman. The movie did not do well at the box office. Alia will now be seen in the multi-starrer movie Brahmastra. The movie is set to release in May 2020. Brahmastra will be directed by Ayan Mukherjee.
