Ganesh Chaturthi, the festival that celebrates Lord Ganesha and dots the streets of Maharashtra as well as many other states each year, began on Monday. In a recent update posted on social media, Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan joined the Ambani family in offering prayers to Lord Ganesh at Mumbai's famous Lalbaugcha Raja last evening.

In the pictures shared from their official handles, the Bachchans were seen praying together, while Mukesh Ambani was seen seeking blessings along with sons Anant, Akash and his daughter-in-law Shloka. All of them offered Aarti together at the Lalbaugcha Raja that is considered to be one of the most famous Ganpati pandals in the city.

As per reports, the holy idol was crafted in a traditional manner and has been installed in a pandal wherein ISRO's Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft at its theme. Several devotees visit it during the ten-day festivities to seek blessings from their Bappa.
Ganesh Chaturthi falls in the month of August or September every year and usually lasts 10 days. Ganesh pandals, idols are installed across the country, especially in Maharashtra where the festival is considered the most important of the year. In recent times, Ganesh idols made from plastic and Plaster of Paris (PoP) are proving to be detrimental for the animal and plant life. As a result, many are opting for eco-friendly idols, typically made of clay, mud, and fruits
