Amitabh Bachchan, Rahul Bose, and others congratulate Indian women’s rugby team for 'creating history' with the first international 15s win against Singapore
The Indian Women’s Rugby XVs team who represented the country at the Asia Rugby Women’s Championship created history winning their first ever International 15s with a 21-19 victory over Singapore on Sunday, June 23.

The Indian Women’s Rugby XVs team who represented the country at the Asia Rugby Women’s Championship created history winning their first ever International 15s with a 21-19 victory over Singapore on Sunday, June 23. The 26-member squad led by captain Vahbiz Bharucha graced the field at Southern Plains Sports Field, Manila, the Philippines and finished as third in the Asia Rugby Women’s Championship Division 1.
Following the same, several Bollywood stars came forward to congratulate the team for achieving the remarkable feat.
Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan was one of the pioneers to extend greetings to the women in Blue. Sharing a post stating the same, Big B wrote, "wow .. !! this is great news !! well-done ladies !! proud of you all"

The squad who made its international debut last year as part of a 15-day Indian National Training camp held in Bhubaneswar from 2nd to 16th June. The players representing the country in the International platform were selected from different parts of the country. Seven players from Odisha had made the cut to the national representation. The shortlisting was reportedly done during the All India Division 1 and Division 2 tournaments, which were held in Mumbai and Ludhiana days back.
