Amitabh Bachchan tests COVID +ve live updates: Abhishek shares statement from hospital

Nanavati Hospital clarified that a video of Amitabh Bachchan praising and boosting the morale of doctors and healthcare workers was not a recent one, but one that was shot in April. The video had gone viral after he was admitted to the hospital for COVID-19.

Abhishek confirmed that Aishwarya and Aaradhya have tested positive for COVID-19 and Jaya Bachchan had tested negative. He informed that he and Big B will remain in the hospital as per instructions of doctors and that Aishwarya and Aaradhya will self-quarantine at home.

Amitabh Bachchan's daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda and her chidren Navya Naveli Nanda and Agastya Nanda have tested negative for COVID-19.

BMC commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal informed that Big B and Abhishek will be tested again after five days, and if they will test negative, they will be discharged and advised home quarantine.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her daughter Aaradhya also tested positive for COVID-19. Their first test had come negative, but the second one came positive. Jaya Bachchan has tested negative for COVID-19.

A team of doctors also went inside the Jalsa Bungalow. Doctors will conduct swab tests of family members and other staff present in the bungalow. 

Meanwhile, the bungalow has been sealed as a containment zone by the BMC officials who reached earlier to sanitize the property.

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan has three bungalows in the Juhu locality of Mumbai- namely Prateeksha, Jalsa and Janak-- and all of them are to be sanitized by the BMC sanitation department. About 20 workers from the department have arrived at the actor's bungalow where his wife Jaya Bachchan, daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and granddaughter Aaradhya Bachchan are to remain in isolation. The area around the bungalow will also be sanitized by BMC.

8-year-old granddaughter of veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan, Aaradhya Bachchan, has tested negative for the coronavirus in the swab test conducted by the Nanavati hospital lab. Actors Jaya Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have also tested negative in the swab test. Their antigen test, conducted on Saturday, had also been negative. 

The hospital officials have informed BMC of the same.

The Nanavati Hospital officials have further stated that the 77-year-old Bollywood superstar is currently stable and has slept well. He is also responding well to the treatment. They have also informed that the veteran actor will release the 'Medical Bulletin' twice a day through his own social media handle.

The hospital has also revealed that the coronavirus Antigen testing was done by a private lab yesterday. Nanavati Hospital will conduct Swab tests for both, Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan today.

The BMC officials are expected to reach Bollywood superstar's bungalow Jalsa by 10 AM on Sunday morning to sanitize it. The landmark bungalow in Juhu has also been declared a containment zone by BMC officials. Actors Jaya Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have been under isolation at the bungalow after being tested negative in the antigen test conducted yesterday. 

The hospital authorities have released a statement for the media on Sunday morning.

"Mr. Amitabh Bacchan is stable with mild symptoms and is currently admitted in the isolation unit at Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital, Mumbai. He has confirmed that he will keep updating via Twitter."

All the staff members inside Bachchan residence have also been tested for the virus. The results of the same are expected later on Sunday.

A dubbing studio in Mumbai, which was recently visited by Abhishek Bachchan for his web series Breathe: Into The Shadows, has been temporarily closed after the actor tested positive for COVID-19.  

Abhishek Bachchan's daughter Aaradhya Bachchan's swab samples have been collected by the authorities for COVID-19 tests. The reports are expected to come later in the day.

Nanavati Hospital has informed that both Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek Bachchan are in stable condition with their oxygen level normal.

Rapid Antigen tests were conducted on both Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan and both shows mild symptoms, report sources. Meanwhile, Jaya and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and rest are isolated in Jalsa Bungalow in Mumbai.

BMC officer has said that Jaya Bachchan ,  Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and remaining contacts have tested negative, as per sources. They will again undergo test after two days, says BMC official.

As both Abhishek and Amitabh Bachchan test COVID positive, Mumbai mayor Kishori Pednekar said that COVID results of  Jaya Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are awaited.

"Amitabh's age is also considered. Like an alert citizen, he came and tested himself. Both are asymptomatic. We want him to come home safe hale and hearty. He has strong will power," she said to Republic.

Speaking about the actor's condition , Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan said, " I dont have any official update.Trying to get touch with hospital and family. Wishing him good health. I am sure they will be alright and will come home soon".

Sources state that Bachchan's son- Abhishek Bachchan too has tested COVID positive. This has been confirmed by Nanavati Hospital. Sources confirm that he is asymptomatic

As Coronavirus cases increase in Mumbai, Bollywood icon  Amitabh Bachchan on Saturday informed that he had tested positive for COVID-19. He has been admitted to the Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai and his condition is reportedly stable. Bachchan also revealed that his family and staff had undergone the tests and results were awaited. he also urged people in contact with him for past 10 days to self-quarantine themselves.
