Daughter of Kumar Mangalam Birla and Neerja Birla, Ananya, took to her Instagram handle to post a selfie with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The music sensation, songwriter seem to have taken the selfie in an elevator. Praising her for the picture, fans wrote: "Strong Selfie Game" as she looked lovely. Ananya wrote that it was an honour to meet the PM.
Ananya was faced with a dilemma when she got an invitation to perform from PM Modi on October 19 and had to perform in Bangalore the same day. In an interview with a leading publication, Ananya said: "When you get an invite from the Prime Minister, you wouldn’t say no. However, I also had my concert in Bengaluru and cancelling was not an option. It means so much to me and the fans. So, I said we have to advance it (to October 18) and hopefully they will understand.”
This is not the first time Ananya posed for a selfie with PM Modi. Back in 2017, the singer shared a selfie on her Facebook handle and wrote: "Meeting and talking to the Honourable Prime Minister has changed my views on our government. I truly believe India is in safe hands. Sir, you are an inspiration!"
Ananya Birla on Fitness
In an interview with Mid-Day, the singer spoke about how she practices mindfulness before she goes on the stage. She said: "I can only give my all on stage [if I can] feed off the energy of my fans, and for that, I need to be fit and in the right frame of mind. I practise mindfulness before stepping on stage each time. I work on my stamina, and on a good day can go on for 90 to 120 minutes. If I’m too tired before a show, and go on stage breathless, I can go off note. So fitness is an important part of my routine. As a child, I would swim. I took to the gym later, and also do a mix of boxing, pilates, and yoga. Meditation is a big part of my life."
