After a long legal battle, the High Court asked to make changes and gave the green light to release the movie in theatres. Ahead of the release, the makers held a press conference on Thursday and discussed the film. During the conference, a media person asked the veteran star to react to Kangana Ranaut's slapgate row. However, to everyone's surprise, he didn't know who the actress was.

A video from the conference is going viral on the internet in which Annu Kapoor was talking about his movie Hamare Baarah when a reporter asked him about Kangana being slapped by a CISF officer at the airport. On hearing Kangana's name he asks, "Who is this Kangana? Is she a big heroine? Is she beautiful?" To this, a media person replies that Kangana recently won the election from Mandi and now she is a newly elected MP. On hearing this, Annu gives a shocked reaction and says, "Oh, she also became one. She is powerful now" After this, the actor said, "If someone slaps me, then I will go through the legal process for this" and asked her to complain against the CISF personnel.

the incident happened when Kangana was travelling to New Delhi from Chandigarh airport a day after her Lok Sabha elections win from Mandi constituency in Himachal Pradesh. The incident went viral and the constable was suspended after a complaint was registered by CISF officials.
