Anupam Kher Demands Legal Action Against CSIF Constable Who Slapped Kangana Ranaut

Anupam Kher has extended his support to Kangana Ranaut after her recent altercation with the CSIF constable at the airport. The Queen actress was travelling from the Chandigarh airport when a woman officer allegedly slapped her. Expressing concern on the same, Kher took to his Instagram account to share his support for Kangana Ranaut

Anupam Kher demands legal action against Kangana Ranaut 

Anupam Kher has unequivocally denounced the slapping of actress and newly-elected MP Kangana Ranaut by a CISF constable. Kher also called for legal action to be pursued against the assailant. He was speaking to the media on the sidelines of the Star of India Awards 2024 in Mumbai. The veteran actor, who has always supported Kangana and recently congratulated her on her victory in Mandi, has voiced his outrage over the slapgate.

He said, "A woman resorting to physical violence against another woman, exploiting her position, is entirely unjustifiable. Legal action should be pursued in response to this." Kher added, "Expressing anger is understandable, but resorting to such actions is regrettable and unacceptable." The actor concluded by saying, “Regardless of Kangana's status as an MP or an actress, she is, above all, a woman. Any form of violence towards a woman or anyone else is unjust.”

Kangana Ranaut slams Bollywood for keeping mum on her assault case 

On Instagram, Kangana, who is outspoken on various issues concerning the film industry and national politics, questioned the silence of her film industry colleagues during this entire episode. The actress had earlier reassured fans on social media that she was fine after being assaulted at the Chandigarh airport by a woman in uniform. On Friday, in her Instagram stories, she wrote, "Dear film industry, you are either celebrating or are totally mum on the airport attack on me remember if tomorrow you are walking disarmingly on the street of your country or anywhere else in the world and some Israeli/Palestinian hits you or your children just because you tried to bring eyes to Rafah or stood up for Israeli hostage then you will see I will be fighting for your rights of free speech if someday you wonder why I am where I remember you are not me (sic)."

However, later she deleted this Insta story from her handle.
