Anushka Sharma started her career as an actor, but she is one of those celebrities who does not restrict themselves to only acting. In 2014, she started her own production house in partnership with her brother. Her production house came up with movies like NH10 and Phillauri. She also came up with her own fashion line NUSH in 2017. Anushka Sharma is an active supporter of taking every step to save planet Earth. The ‘eco-friendly’ wedding invitation
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli were criticised for having a grand wedding in Italy by certain sections of the media. What was appreciated by all, however, was that the couple actually took a step for betterment for the environment on their wedding by giving out eco-friendly invites. This eco-friendly wedding card came with a sapling. According to many, this was a great message for saving the environment.
Anushka Sharma on the death of the last white male rhino
On March 21, 2018, Anushka Sharma posted a picture of the death of the last white male rhinoceros. She seemed to be furious about the incident as she captioned it, “RIP Sudan. Your species survived a million years & could have survived a lot more had we been more careful. The last northern white male rhino passes away and just like that - the species is extinct. What. Are. We. Doing?” The actor is quite vocal about her opinion on the activities that are damaging the environment and often addresses these issues on her social media handles.
Anushka’s take on World Environment Day
On World Environment Day, there were many Bollywood celebrities who urged their fans on social media to be sensible about the environment and climate change. Anushka Sharma didn’t sit back either and took to Instagram to share a sketch which was a flow chart with the title ‘how to be more sustainable in 2019’. She wrote, "This world environment day let's take a pledge to reverse the environmental damage caused by ensuring our commitment towards mother nature we call him. The time is NOW."
Anushka Sharma says “Climate change is real.”
On September 24, the Band Baja Baraat actor reposted Greta Thunberg’s speech on climate change. Greta spoke about climate problems in the world. Anushka asked fans to listen carefully to what Greta was saying and also reiterated her belief that climate change is real.
