The man of multiple talents, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, has been a part of Bollywood for a long time now. From a pickpocket to a don whom no one dared to fight with — he has portrayed a wide array of characters and adds another benchmark in acting with every movie. His movies are replete with dialogues, most of which become a hit with the audience and is thrown around among friends. Here is a list of some remarkable dialogues from his movies and series.
Sacred Games
“Kabhi kabhi toh lagta hai apun-ich bhagwan hain.” This dialogue by Nawazuddin's character Ganesh Gaitonde from his Netflix show Sacred Games became an instant hit with citizens who started using it in daily conversations. Other remarkable dialogues from the series are “Yeh gun, bin, drugs, property yeh sab chhota Dhanda hai. Asli dhanda hai politics” and “Bhagwan ko maante ho? Bhagwaan ko l*nd farak padta hain.”
The series is based on a book written by Vikram Chandra, published in the year 2006.
Manjhi The Mountain Man
“Bhagwan ke bharose mat baithiye, Kya pata bhagwan humre bharose baitha ho!” This dialogue from the movie Manjhi has been recognized by the masses. The movie narrates the story of Dashrath Manjhi, played by Nawazuddin. Widely known as the "Mountain Man", Dashrath, a poor man living in a remote village in Bihar carved a path 9.1 metres wide and 110 metres long through a hill 7.6 metres high, using only a hammer and chisel for better connectivity with the city. It took him 22 years to carve the road.
Gangs of Wasseypur- Part 2
“Baap ka, dada ka, Bhai ka, Sabka badla lega re tera, Faijal...” This dialogue from the Anurag Kashyap's Gangs of Wasseypur- Part 2 was so good that people still sometimes quote it seven years after its release. In this revenge story, we see Nawazuddin playing the role of Faizal, who seeks to avenge his father's death. Other remarkable dialogues from the movie are “Tumko yaad kar karke haath dukh gaya hamara” and “Ek hi jaan hai ya to allah lega ya mohalla..”.
