Bhojpuri actor Brijesh Tripathi dies aged 72, Ravi Kishan among others mourn former’s loss
Brijesh Tripathi had worked in several Bollywood movies in the 90s like Gupt, Mohra, and was currently active in the Bhojpuri film industry.
Notable Bhojpuri film actor Brijesh Tripathi passed away on Sunday evening. The actor, who had worked in many popular Hindi films and was currently active in Bhojpuri cinema, had a heart attack on Sunday evening and later was declared dead after being brought to the hospital. Tripathi had recently returned to Mumbai, after undergoing Dengue treatment in a hospital in Meerut for almost 2 weeks.
Brijesh Tripathi began his Hindi film career in 1980
Brijesh Tripathi made his acting debut in late 70s in Bhojpuri cinema, and later ventured into Hindi movies with the 1980 film Taxi Chor. Throughout the 90s and 2000s, Tripathi could be seen playing small, supporting characters in many popular movies like Mohra, Gupt, No Entry, Mrityudaata among others. However, around late 2000s, the actor again switched back to Bhojpuri cinema and appeared in many major movies of the industry.
Departure of an era: Ravi Kishan about Tripathi’s demise
Tripathi had shared screen with actor Ravi Kishan in many movies in last 10-15 years. Upon Tripathi’s demise, Ravi Kishan stated, “We had done about 100 films with Brijesh Tripathi ji, his departure is the departure of an era from the Bhojpuri film industry. May God adorn his virtuous soul with the highest honor from heaven.”
Brijesh Tripathi’s family lives in Mumbai. His last rites are to be performed today.
