As per a news agency, Confederation of All India Traders has written a letter to the Information and Broadcasting Minister, Prakash Javadekar requesting that popular television show, 'Bigg Boss' that is currently in its 13th season and is hosted by Bollywood actor Salman Khan be banned. They further asked for certification from the censor board before the show is telecast. "Our country’s traditional and cultural values are being tarnished in the lust of TRP and profits”, read an excerpt from the post. It also went on to state that the 'Bed Friend Forever' concept in the show is 'deplorable and against all ethics of television world'
Comparing film and television, the trade body questioned, "When films are subjected to Censor Board then why can't the TV shows which have a greater impact not be subject to a board? How is it that they are allowed to telecast open vulgarity, nonsense, cultural nuisance, and most deplorable scenes and content in the show"
