'Thalapathy' Vijay starrer Bigil released on October 24, 2019. The movie is written and directed by Atlee Kumar. The film made a huge buzz, as it opened with a huge collection at the box office. Within a few days of its release, the movie entered the ₹ 100-crore club. By November 1, it reportedly had a total collection of ₹ 197 crore. The movie is not only setting the Indian box office on fire, but is also doing extremely well overseas.
Bigil scores big at the UK box office
In the United Kingdom, Bigil released on October 25, 2019. It has reportedly crossed the record of film Rajinikanth's Petta and became the highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2019 in the UK. It is also ranked in the list of top 10 opening weekends. According to film critics, it is a rare thing for a Tamil movie to make it to the UK top-10 opening weekends list.
It is ranked on number 9 along with movies like Joker and Terminator: Dark Fate. The weekend total of the movie was £ 375,089. Not only in the UK, but it is also ranked in Australia's Top 10 on number 7. The movie made a huge buzz in Malaysia’s GSC multiplex where it was ranked first on the list, beating movies like Joker and Kaithi. It was released in New Zealand on October 29. The movie collected a total of $ 10,000 from six locations. Bigil released in about 3000 screens across the globe and became the third super hit film of Vijay in collaboration with director Atlee. Their last two superhit collaborations were Mersal and Theri.
Bigil is a story that revolves around a former football player who struggles to fulfill the dream of his friend and seeks the revenge of the death of his father. The cast of the movie includes Nayanthara, Jackie Shroff, Vivek, Kathir, Daniel Balaji. Vijay's next movie has also been announced.
