Five months after the announcement of the project, Bigil finally got its release across the country yesterday.  Fans of director Atlee and popular Tamil actor Thalapathy Vijay thronged to the theatres to watch their latest collaboration. The film title, Bigil was announced on June 2019. Bigil features actors Vijay and Nayanthara in the lead roles and is directed by Atlee. The first look featured actor Vijay in a double role; one as a father, and the other as a son. The soundtrack and background score for Bigil is composed by AR Rahman under the banner of AGS Entertainment. The film is bankrolled by AGS Entertainment.
