While romantic-comedy maybe a popular genre, nothing seems to beat chick-flicks. They are movies which centre around a female lead and are mostly said to be popular among women.  They also seem to perfect for curling up on the couch with one’s best friends and have a lazy day binge-watching films. Here are some popular chick-flick films that one should catch up on:

Clueless

This movie released in 1995 and has reportedly gone on to become a cult movie. It features Alicia Silverstone, Stacey Dash, Brittany Murphy and Paul Rudd. It is about a rich high-school student, Cher (Alicia) who takes it on her to increase the social popularity of a rather average girl. The movie can be said to have introduced the genre of chick-flick films. Clueless was not only cosndiered iconic for its story but also the outfits donned by the characters. Legally Blonde

Chick-flicks are not chick-flicks if they have not set a trend. The movie reportedly popularised the “bend and snap” move that Reese Witherspoon teaches Jennifer Coolidge’s character when she tries to woo a man. Legally Blonde is about a fashionable sorority queen (Reese Witherspoon) who follows her ex-boyfriend into an Ivy League law college but is prejudiced against for her being blonde. 27 Dresses

There is a whole population of girls who dream about weddings and this movie seems to be dedicated to them. This chick-flick revolves around a woman, Jane (Katherine Heigl) who has been the maid of honour for 27 brides but is still waiting for her turn. However, a whole series of events follow when her little sister is engaged to marry the man that she secretly loves. Mean Girls was one of the most popular movies by Lindsay Lohan. She plays the iconic character of Cady Heron who gets included in her high-school clique to spy on them on behalf of her friend.
