Madhuri Dixit and Anil Kapoor have done a dozen films together. Their pair was a hit back in the 90s. They are one of the most loved couples on the big screen. Their films, Beta, Pukaar, Ram Lakhan, Jamai Raja and Tezaab, were all hit at the box office.

The movie, Tezaab, released in the year 1988, was directed by N.Chandra. It is a typical love story that filmmakers made during the 90s. After the death of Munna’s ( Anil Kapoor) parents, his life is ruined as he struggles to make a decent living. He falls in love with Mohini (Madhuri Dixit), but they are separated due to Mohini’s cruel father. Munna gets jailed for a murder and is released after a year. He is convinced by his friends and his sister to win Mohini back. The movie was loved by the audience and went to become a blockbuster at the box office. According to the Movie Box Office collection, Tezaab made ₹ 8 crores in India and around ₹12 crores worldwide.
In comparison to Tezaab, Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit starrer, Jamai Raja, which was released in the year 1990 and directed by A. Kodandarami Reddy did not do as well at the box office. Jamai Raja is a romantic comedy film. It is the love story of Rekha (Madhur Dixit) and Raja (Anil Kapoor). Rekha’s mother opposes their love as she thinks her daughter deserves a much better husband than Raja. She tries to separate them in many ways but eventually fails and accepts Raja. Although there is no exact information about the film's box-office collection, trade analysts believe that it did an average business at the box-office.

Anil Kapoor will be seen in his next movie, Pagalpanti, which will be releasing later this year. He also has two more movies which will release next year. Madhuri Dixit who made her comeback to Bollywood movies after her marriage with Aaja Nachle was last seen in Karan Johar’s Kalank. Like many other 90s celebrities, Madhuri Dixit has now moved to judging reality Tv shows.
