Dabangg 3: Why Mahie Gill is not a part of the upcoming movie

Salman Khan on Wednesday released the trailer of his upcoming movie, Dabangg 3. The film, starring Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead, is the third installment of the Dabangg franchise. Directed by Prabhu Deva, the movie, has a strong supporting cast consisting of Saiee Manjrekar, Arbaaz Khan, and Pramod Khanna. Reportedly all the characters from the Dabangg 2 will make a comeback in Dabangg 3, except one. Here are all the details.

Actor Mahie Gill, who played the role of Nirmala Pandey in the first two movies of the franchise, said that she will not feature in Dabangg 3. Mahie, in an earlier interview given to news agency Press trust India (PTI), had revealed how taking-up the role of Nirmala Pandey hampered her acting career. "After Dev D, I had won a lot of appreciation and awards. People wanted to sign me for films. But I did Dabangg and it backfired big time. The producers started to offer me small roles. I felt very bad but I did not know what was happening." said Mahie Gill. The actor revealed the slump in her career ended when she was offered Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster.

The actor was last seen in Bollywood movie Family of Thakurganj. The movie, starring Jimmy Sheirgill, Mahie Gill and Nandish Singh in the lead, was a box office debacle. Mahie is currently a part of a web series Fixerr. The web series, starring Shabbir Ahluwalia and Mahie Gill in the lead, narrates the adventurous tale of an Anti-Terrorist Squad officer who turns a 'fixer' for Mumbai mafia.
